Why did Jesus come to earth? #DailyBibleReading #Bible #Gospel

Why did Jesus come to earth? He didn't need to, that's for sure. Humanity departed from God's clear commands from the beginning, choosing our own way. And we have ever since. But He came. Not to condemn us. He came to serve.

Today's reading gives so many glimpses of this. As the firstborn son is the sacrifice for the family to live in Egypt, so Jesus is the sacrifice for all of us to live in God's family. And that is exactly why Jesus came... in His own words:

"The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give His life as a ransom for many."

Jesus came to serve us - to give His life as a sacrifice in our place. Let us take today to serve Him and others, following in the footsteps of our Savior!
