Are you feeling inadequate to do what God has called you to do?

That’s a good feeling because you are inadequate. In today’s Bible reading I was struck by Moses saying this for the 3rd time.

"Lord, I can’t do this because I’m not a good speaker. They are not going to listen."

God said - I made your tongue the way it is. I know you are inadequate, let me show you my power through using any vessel I please to do my work. This is my work. I will show my power.

God is the One Who does the work - we just put our little gift in His hand and watch Him do the work and get the glory.

“But Lord!” Moses objected. “My own people won’t listen to me anymore. How can I expect Pharaoh to listen? I’m such a clumsy speaker” (Exodus 6:12 NLT)!

When the Lord spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, He said to him, “I am the Lord! Tell Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, everything I am telling you.” But Moses argued with the Lord, saying, “I can’t do it! I’m such a clumsy speaker! Why should Pharaoh listen to me” (Exodus 6:28–30 NLT)?

What a joy today to see the Lord using shepherds in His people's lives. He is our great Shepherd. Keep following closely to Him today in all He has called you to do.

The Three Eclipses of the Bible and What They Mean Our eyes come across three eclipses in the Bible. The first one is when God judged Egypt for mistreating His children. This was one of the ninth of ten plagues... the final one before total rejection. "So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days" (Exodus 10:22). The second is the glorious one when Jesus is on the cross and the wrath of God for our sin is placed on Him. This darkness too lasted three hours. IN this time, God's wrath, the judgment for the sins of humanity was placed upon Jesus and He died in our place. "Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour" (Matthew 27:45). The third eclipse mentioned is yet to come. Lloyd Jones and Billy Graham – Association or Separation

I just finished Ian Murray’s biography on Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones.  His ministry is an inspiration to me.  I love the simple consistency he exhibited and his reliance upon God ordained methods to accomplish God’s purposes. One area I find Lloyd Jones exhibited great wisdom was how he graciously resisted the overwhelming tide of the ecumenism of his day. Dr. Lloyd Jones believed that the ends should not justify the means.  In the 1950’s, ecumenism in England was championed by most Evangelical leaders.  Leaders like J I Packer believed that they were to gain greater respect by association with and dialog within theologically liberal associations.  The hope was to heal the cancerous body from within by being a healthy cell.  His end goal – a more respected evangelical voice. His means – accommodation with theological error.
