Happy Easter 2020 - Sunrise Message from Queens

Image
Perhaps we can understand their Sunday morning a little better this year. Those devout followers for years were so distraught Friday, Saturday into Sunday morning. Did they sleep, did they eat? They were in terror of being caught and killed as well. They were quiet. They were quarantined. They did not know when they would be out or what was coming next. We feel some of that. But that dark morning was so much more gloomy for them. They feared not just of their life… they feared that what they had been following was not true. And then when it was still dark, a group of ladies went to the tomb. And Jesus appeared to Mary…

Good Friday Devotional

Image
On Good Friday, His hour had come. I’ve been refreshed spiritually through reading the Gospel of John this week. Once again, those phrases, “His hour,” jumped off the page. I’m struck by the truths that this one phrase presses into our soul. First, Jesus knew what He came for; He knew why He was to die. And so, He knew what would come when that hour came. This was no surprise; the Lamb of God went willingly to the slaughter and took our place on the tree. His face was set like a rock that would not be turned aside. Second, God the Father, Son and Spirit knew that the hour of suffering was needed in order for the hour of glory to follow. As the hour came, Jesus said, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified” ( John 17:1 ). So often, the time of tears must come before the time of triumph. I’m reminded of how we are, as a culture, brought into a time of trial this Good Friday, and I’m left to trust Him Who knows all of our hours. I trust the God; He knows what He is doin

Finding Stability in Unsettling Times

Image
Our society is going through a difficult time. I think one word that people often use to describe these weeks is unsettling. Even those who are not anxious are unsettled. Well, where can we go to get settled? I find no better place than this often repeated illustration in the Bible. Continue to the end of the video for a Bible study to keep your mind set on the Lord. #anxiety #BibleStudy #Devotional
