This week's words of grace video comes from the beach of Nassau in the Bahamas. Thanks, Grace for the gift of a week cruise!

God knows you. The Psalmist states that God's thoughts toward you are, "more than the sand of the sea!" What a joy it is to know that God knows everything that is going on in our lives. He knows where we are at all times and discerns even our innermost feelings and desires. God knows you! He knows who you are. He knows what you are going through today. Rest in the knowledge of our good God.

Considering God’s Providence helps us discern what His will is: His Providence is literally, that He sees beforehand. God providentially controls all things. Psalms says He is intimately acquainted with all our ways. Ephesians He works all things according to the counsel of His will. Psalm 135:6 (NASB95) 6 Whatever the Lord pleases, He does, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps. He is in control, and He is orchestrating your present and future. He causes all these things to work together for good. SO Trust Him. But also get a birds eye view of the decision. How has He led to this point – what is the trajectory of where your life is going as it pertains to that decision. He has most definitely already laid some track ahead and you’re just following as He leads. What gifts, talents, opportunities, circumstances, desires, helpers has He put in your path moving forward? Lloyd Jones and Billy Graham – Association or Separation

I just finished Ian Murray’s biography on Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones.  His ministry is an inspiration to me.  I love the simple consistency he exhibited and his reliance upon God ordained methods to accomplish God’s purposes. One area I find Lloyd Jones exhibited great wisdom was how he graciously resisted the overwhelming tide of the ecumenism of his day. Dr. Lloyd Jones believed that the ends should not justify the means.  In the 1950’s, ecumenism in England was championed by most Evangelical leaders.  Leaders like J I Packer believed that they were to gain greater respect by association with and dialog within theologically liberal associations.  The hope was to heal the cancerous body from within by being a healthy cell.  His end goal – a more respected evangelical voice. A secret to spiritual strength in your everyday life comes from Ephesians 5 where God tells us to be filled with the Holy Spirit… and that filling enables us in all the other relationships throughout the rest of the book. Submitting to one another in the family, and the family of God. What is filling? Filling has reference to control - God's Spirit's control. The interesting fact there is that we are commanded to be filled. Be enabled, controlled. That’s a passive verb. It must be done to you by God. So as you face spiritual battles throughout the day, this is something you must ask the Lord to do in you. "Lord, please control me by your Spirit in me."
