As we finish reading the book of John in the Bible there is a very instructive conversation between Peter and Jesus. Peter had denied Jesus and even cursed and swore that he did not know Him. This was after his proud proclamation that even though all would deny Him Peter would not! What does Jesus do when speaking with Peter? He questions his love based on his actions, encouraging him to repent and follow. But He does not cast Peter off. He dusts him off, cleanses him and encourages him to follow and serve. Praise the Lord for HIs forgiving, wonderful grace!

 As God dismissed Moses from service He knew that His people would wander from His truths and His servant, Moses.   We all have so many things to do each day. And they can actually weigh us down to be "troubled and distressed" by much serving. But that can get our eyes off of what is truly most important. Jesus shares that through the great example of Mary who sat at His feet and listened to His Word... This one thing is essential. So let's not neglect our time with the Lord in Bible reading, prayer and praise.

  Who is at work in your spiritual growth, you or God? Well, it is true that we can do nothing without God - "without Me, you can do nothing." But God chooses to work through our work. As Philippians 2 states: God is at work in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure. He chooses to use your choices to take the next step spiritually. So move forward, by His grace taking the next step.

The secret to living the Christian life is found in Galatians 2:20 where we find it is not our life to live. it is the life of Christ. “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me." Christ lives in and through us!

Should you ask God for a sign? Well, we are delighted every time we see God at work in our lives on a spiritual or physical plain. But we should not see these as the reason we believe in Him. We believe in Him because of His resurrection power! He raised Jesus from the dead and raises us as well!

  In Jesus' parable of the soils, He gives three categories of items that can distract from His Word entering our hearts and bearing fruit. Let's consider the third one today. The cares of life and the deceitfulness of riches.

  The Psalms are filled with truths about God. And this is a glorious one. You can trust God because His faithfulness extends to the heavens. Love the Lord and trust Him with all that you have!

  One of the most amazing prophecies of Scripture that shows God is in control of all things... even the darkest parts of our lives.

Moses had an amazing privilege to go into the very presence of God daily and behold His glory. As he did, his face shown gloriously… Millions of children of Israel watched this daily occurrence as one man ascended into God’s presence, heard God’s Words and spoke with Him.. Amazing privilege! And yet, the glory of the Gospel is that Jesus has brought us all into that holy place. He has taken the penalty of the sin with His cross. ALL Of us now can come into God’s very presence and see His glory hear His Word and speak with Him. WE ALL WITH UNVEILED FACE BEHOLD HIS GLORY. Praise God for the Gospel!

  An amazing passage in Exodus tells us that Moses and the elders saw the God of Israel… HIs feet and his form. Of course God is Spirit so as they saw God they are seeing Jesus, God in flesh in a pre-incarnate appearance. And it states they actually ate with Him. At the giving of the Law they ate with the fulfillment of the Law. Exodus 24:9–11 (NASB95) 9Then Moses went up with Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, 10and they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself. 11Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and they saw God, and they ate and drank.

  As we look at necessary items like budgets and buildings or when we get overwhelmed with life’s pains and pressures, we can forget the amazing privilege we have each day to know and follow God. These are always temptations for God’s people. Perhaps Moses felt that way when he daily cared for the Children of Israel but tried to keep the right focus. He, no doubt had a busier schedule then all of us.    What was kept him grounded? The same thing that keeps you and I grounded. Keeping our eyes on the glorious nature of God. Are you feeling overwhelmed today? Don’t lose sight of the Lord – Keep your eyes on His glory! And a great passage to think through is that one that Moses records as God preached His glory directly to Him in Exodus 34:       The  Lord  descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he called upon the name of the  Lord .  6 Then the  Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, “The  Lord , the...

  Another point of comfort comes from the fact that we can't hold everything together. But we can trust the One Who does. Not only did Jesus create all things. The Bible states that He "holds it all together."

  We may think of God's grace as only for salvation. But grace is His aiding us in all of our weaknesses. So we find in Him help in every need - every day in every way! Come to God for His amazing Grace.

  God puts us in a pickle on purpose? Yes, at times, He knows that the way He is going to grow us can only be accomplished by stretching our faith muscles. And that doesn't happen without bringing us into a difficult position.

  Psalm for today is: Even strong lions sometimes go hungry, But those who trust in the Lord will lack no good thing. THIS GIVES GREAT PERSPECTIVE TO WANT: If we don’t have it, we can trust that the Lord is good and knows what best. WE ask and submit to His will. And so we can say: The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.

The amazing, encouraging prayer for today is from Psalm 25: Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. 7Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord. We can all remember our past sins, and grovel. Instead may we remember God’s unfailing love and abundant forgiveness offered through the Gospel.

  How can we change our mind about our trials? We can recognize that God has purposes in them. He is able to strengthen and perfect me in my trial.

  Feeling week today? Then, call out to the Lord and recognize that He alone is your strength!

Can we find good in our trial? Yes! The good of growing into Christlikeness: We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. Romans 5:3–5 (NLT)

  This is a wonderful prayer! It points to Jesus Who is our glorious Savior Who is able to do far more than what we ask… to the glory of His name in the church.

  Jesus shares comforting words to us all to come to Him! As we follow Him, He is able to bear our burden. Cast your care on Him today for He cares for you!

  The teaching of Jesus is so profound! The paradox of taking up our cross is not just profound, it is essential to know how to live in the first place.

  The Bible gives us great motivation for life... some of that motivation is in the way of warnings. A waring that is so helpful is to be sure that we be careful what we sow (do) because we will reap based on that. What we do will have repercussions in this life. So let us follow Christ faithfully. . . don't get off the straight and narrow way my friends! We end up stuck and needing help from above when we don't follow Christ.

  As we read of Yahweh appearing in the Old Testament, we know that these are pre-incarnate appearances of Jesus. God appears ... But God is Spirit, so as the LORD stands and speaks, it is Jesus. And He ministers great comfort to Jacob saying He will be with Him. We can take this comfort for our own for Jesus is with us today too! Genesis 28:12–14 (NLT) 12 As he slept, he dreamed of a stairway that reached from the earth up to heaven. And he saw the angels of God going up and down the stairway.   13 At the top of the stairway stood the Lord, and he said, “I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham, and the God of your father, Isaac. The ground you are lying on belongs to you. I am giving it to you and your descendants.   14 Your descendants will be as numerous as the dust of the earth! They will spread out in all directions—to the west and the east, to the north and the south. And all the families of the earth will be blessed through you and your descendants.

I love the prayer the Paul had for the Ephesian believers. This shares what would be truly a blessed individual. May the Lord give us grace to value and prize these above all. Ephesians 3:16 –19 ...that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

God's glory is eternally unique. There is no end to searching it out. Once we begin to dive down into understanding His depth and power, we never will end in it's great depth. His greatness is eternally greater than we can search and find. We will never fathom its greatness or depth. I love this phrase from Psalm 145. Psalm 145:3 Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised, And His greatness is unsearchable.

  We can find lasting hope in our everlasting God. When our hope is placed in items that disappear, our hope is weak and faulty. When our hope is placed in God, it is solid. He is our everlasting Rock!

  During the winter seasons of life we need to go to our God of all comfort to know that He feels with us in our pain. His compassion knows no measure. And in His empathy He can provide what we need in the right time. Trust our God of all compassion today. And every day!

  What is the best news of the Bible? It's revealed in the purpose Jesus had in coming to earth. He came to save us from the penalty of our sin by dying in our place on the cross. And that is good news!

What do you want to summarize your life? Well, in Genesis one thing is said about him. Enoch walked with God. He spent time in the presence of God and spent his day in God’s presence. And so GOd took Him up to be with Him. What a testimony! May our life be summarized in the same way - Walked with God.
