What is the safest place in times of life’s greatest troubles and storms? David knew great storms, and as he wrestled through one in a city, he confessed that God would hide him in the secret place of His presence. “How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You… You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues” (Psalm 31:19–20). No matter how harsh the conditions around us are, we can go to God’s presence for safety. We find rest and security in our minds when we know who the Lord is and that His presence is with us.
