  We all have so many things to do each day. And they can actually weigh us down to be "troubled and distressed" by much serving. But that can get our eyes off of what is truly most important. Jesus shares that through the great example of Mary who sat at His feet and listened to His Word... This one thing is essential. So let's not neglect our time with the Lord in Bible reading, prayer and praise.

  Who is at work in your spiritual growth, you or God? Well, it is true that we can do nothing without God - "without Me, you can do nothing." But God chooses to work through our work. As Philippians 2 states: God is at work in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure. He chooses to use your choices to take the next step spiritually. So move forward, by His grace taking the next step.
